Gynae visit - 4

It's been a while since I've posted reports on our gynae visits. Kinda forgotten I had this category to blog about =D.

In a nutshell from the ultrasound scan:
1. EFW = 989g (a little higher than normal). So I was advised to cut down on my Anmum milk intake which is fine by me seeing I was stunned with what I found in the pack (will elaborate later).
2. BPD = 68.1mm
3. AC = 213.4mm
4. FL = 52.4mm
5. Amniotic fluid quantity is normal

According to my calculations, baby is supposed to be 26 weeks 3 days. Scans came out to be 27 weeks 1 day, which brought forward my due date to 1st June.

Things to note for this week onwards:
1. Gynae said, start the movement count! 10 movements per day. If anything changes drastically, remember point 2.
2. Should anything happen, go straight to the labor and emergency ward which is open 24/7 =)

Now... my Anmum Materna milk story. I bought a BRAND new box of milk last week, then proceeded to open it. Upon stiring the milk in my cup, I saw black things floating at the surface... Upon closer inspection, I found that that those black things were BUGS!!! BUGS IN MY MILK! I've since stopped drinking and have written a complain letter to Anmum which has not received a reply. So yeap....I googled this up and apparently, similar cases have been found in baby milk powder and those bugs are harmful!! Please beware.. I wonder if this was an isolated incident (ie one single batch) or there are more of it! One thing's for sure, I was delighted when gynae said to cut down on Anmum!! To all Anmum drinkers, please inspect your milk powder before drinking!

Gynae visits - 3

Went for our week 12 checkup yesterday. Couldn't see the baby clearly as the gynae said I had lots of wind inside me which interfered with the ultrasound waves. =(

But but but, we were thrilled!!! Baby grew and is now 6.04cm crown to rump! And the head was HUGE. We also saw long long legs and nice arms and hands =D Still thumb sucking.

What greeted us on the screen was an upside down baby! Yeap, head was downwards. So interesting! With much prodding and coaxing from the doctor (or more like annoyance XD) bean squirmed and wiggled back into the regular position.

Gynae was pleased with what she saw. She said she was mainly looking out for the nice back bone (which we saw!! ), a nicely formed nose, and no swelling in the neck area. So we had 3 positives! On top of that, there was no sugar and no protein in my urine, another 2 positives!

And this time, Justin brought the camera to record a video of the ultrasound. To all mothers to be out there, bring a video cam to record those ultrasound moments, they are amazing!!

Thank You Lord for holding us through this journey. 1 trimester down, 2 more to go!! Praise the Lord!

Gynae visits - 2

HELLO!!

The LONGGGG awaited checkup has come and gone. I was anxious about the 8th week checkup following the last miscarriage. So I scheduled this one to be after 8 weeks 1 day. Initially we were supposed to see her yesterday (Wednesday) but due to an emergency, all appointments were pushed to Thursday morning instead.

Sooooo... Finally, I lay down and fixed my eyes on the ultrasound machine, saw the sac, but didn't know where to look for the heartbeat!! Then the doc said, ahhh, there's the heartbeat. Very nice indeed. And then my eyes caught sight of the blinking dot. Beating so so so fast!!!

Gynae said that the estimated due date is 8th June 2010. =D All we can say now is, LORD YOU ARE SO SO SO SO GOOD!!! PRAISE YOU!!!

Gynae visits - 1

We first saw the gynae on 2nd Oct when we were 4 weeks and the abdominal ultrasound (US) showed a gestational sac (GS) diameter of 0.89cm.

Second visit was on 5th Oct because of the dizzy spells caused by Progesterone pills and another US was done where GS was 1.03cm.

Third visit was today 14th Oct and an abdominal US showed a GS measuring 1.92cm (5weeks 5 days), but no heartbeat could be detected as it was still early. So we opted for a transvaginal US which showed a very clear picture of our baby, with a good strong heartbeat! It also showed that the crown to rump length (CRL) measured 0.9cm and baby was in fact 6 weeks and 4 days old! Our baby's growing on track! PRAISE THE LORD!!

After the transvaginal US, I went to pee, and discovered blood on my panties. Fresh blood... So we went back up to the gynae and she gave me an injection to stabilize the pregnancy (more hormones) and told me to go back for bed rest. She mentioned that it could be nothing more that just the effect of the transvaginal scan, so she concluded that to be safe, she won't do anymore transvaginal scans. =(

the blood stopped a while ago. It was like a one off thing. And the most amazing thing was, I felt a deep calmness throughout. So much peace. So I knew everything's going to be perfect! =) God is good!
